We realized that our submissions process for featuring new games on the showcase had been somewhat neglected. To address this, we’ve updated the criteria to make it clearer and more accessible, hel...

@emi_cpl I suppose that the '100 reviews on Steam' requirement will discourage 99% of the devs who'd like to do a submission and kill a lot of enthusiasm. it feels a bit hostile for an engine so popular among hobbyists. perhaps that specific requirement can be weighed internally while the public form asks for specific kpi's on the game's (potential) success
@adriaan When we had a form open we got an overwhelming amount of games with 0 reviews and, to be honest, not really good looking. I know there are a lot of people giving their all to make their game a success, but we want to have this showcase to be curated with good quality projects that can showcase what the engine can do. So, maybe we can reduce the amount of reviews, but the objective of it was for the game to be validated already. We really can't add everyone or review thousands of entries

@emi_cpl right, totally agree on that only games with measurable success should be showcased and nobody should expect you to consider every game. perhaps the point of the showcase page can be elaborated on a bit more like:

"we're proud of every game made using godot, but unfortunately can't feature them all. to best showcase the engine and its capabilities, we're looking to feature games with measurable success." etc

I guess my point is that I hope you can soften the blow a bit ;)

@adriaan @emi_cpl Maybe have two showcases?

1. "Hall of fame" bragging place swhere you showcase games that broke the bank
2. "Games we love" section with rotating stream of absolute underdogs.

@sos @adriaan @emi_cpl absolute units and absolute underdogs
@joon @adriaan @emi_cpl Absolute units and absolute zero units sold
