As noted in the article - while our Exec Board is absolutely fantastic, they aren't a "who's who" of science fame😉!
This is by design: we wanted a board who can dedicate time to Pathoplexus & are handling the data, using databases - & can 💯 connect to what our users need.

We also wanted a diverse board - both geographically & in background & expertise. Again - so that our users are represented & understood.

I cannot express how humbled I am that George Githinji, Anderson Brito, Alli Black, & Tommy Lam enthusiastically took on this role! 🎉🙏🏻

Having said that - we also recognise that prestigious names are prestigious for good reason - they have a wealth of expertise & knowledge we're keen to draw on!

Thus, we also have a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), currently with Sofonias Tessema & Mang Shi! (More coming soon!)

Pathoplexus has been a community effort from the start - we're so pleased to work closely with @pha4ge to ensure we have diverse representation & expertise in areas like data standards, pipelines, and ethics - drawn on for every part of Pathoplexus. 🔄🖥️⚖️

And I want to emphasize, this isn't "just a formality" - all the members played a critical role in deciding our Data Use Terms, time limit for data restriction, metadata standards & format, database terms of service, and more. 🤔📃👨🏾‍⚖️

Finally, I want to give a true shout-out to the devs - who took all these decisions & requirements - and actually turned it into the fantastic database & website you see today! 🧑🏽‍💻👩🏻‍💻

This has been so much work: so many bugs to squash, so many tests to run - they've been 🌟s!
