With Google winding down #Jamboard I'm going to have to find an alternative way of entertaining myself during my online lessons (or games of Pictionary, as they always seem to end up).

Has anyone else successfully explored Jamboard alternatives? #Miro looks quite good.

@jamesc Miro is a monster.
I tried a lot during the pandemic.

@kupfers Props to whiteboard.chat and basic Miro for allowing try-out boards without requiring a sign-up! Any particular reason you dislike Miro? ;-)

@jamesc No, I guess it’s just that it can do so much and tries to do so much and everything gets messy and overwhelming fast in case you try to use it for organizing content. I suffer through student presentation in Miro that have no structure but are more like emptying a cardboard box with snippets in front of you.

If you just use it for fun white board sketching it’s probably fine (but not free). So I like the lite version enough

@kupfers I'm just irked that Jamboard was good and included in my paid-for Workspace account, but that now I need to pay more. I tried to blag a free #Miro for oppima.eu but they weren't having it πŸ™‚
@kupfers #Miro still works best with my #WacomTablet; left hand on the tablet to do the drawing, right on the mouse to control tools.
