One thing that concerns me is referenced to at the end of that article. The idea of dealing with the numbers needing DLA by dealing with the numbers with Autism &ADHD. ADHD meds do not work for all kids with ADHD & sometimes only work a bit but all have time not on meds to, for example, sleep.
You can't just make them 'normal' and for Autism there isn't even any medicine that can be offered. The only way to cut the numbers claiming DLA is to cut support for kids who need it.
If govt tries to interfere with the criteria for getting a diagnosis that can leave kids without support at school as well as no DLA potentially ruining the child's education as well as them being disruptive in class & block access to ADHD meds which for some can be transformative.
