Anyone who still works for Google, can you tell me what the *fuck* is going on? I am not in the market for automated high-throughput bluffing
@pjie2 my Google friend says she's trying to hang on until AI insanity has passed and is as forgotten as Google glass.

@smellsofbikes @pjie2 but we don't forget. Google, as with many famous brands these days, is just flushing their reputation down the toilet. We may someday forget all the specifics of why, but we will never forget when they went to shit.

Twitter, Microsoft, Walmart, the Republican party - all zombie brands. A lot of people hanging in because of the sunk cost fallacy, but they are never going to be huge again.

It is just a matter of when, like it was with Sears and Kmart.

For those in the UK, think Woolworths, BHS, C&A, Debenhams... all stores that were the staple of any high street.

All bought out by VC firms that strip them of their assets, extract as much wealth in as short a term as possible, destroy pension firms and then let them go bankrupt.

The same is happening in the UK with utility firms. Thames water will go under as it's been stripped of it's capital and can't afford to even maintain infrastructure

Privatisation and global monopolistic companies were sold as the best form of wealth creation.

This has been shown to probably be true along with the creation of record numbers of poor and $bilionairs.

There's increasing amounts of homelessness, child poverty and the other social ills.

It's a greed crisis.
