So it's illegal to test cows for TB without permission from the govt. Which means if the govt are determined to kill badgers there is no way to experiment with other ways of preventing TB. Any research is only with govt permission.

Brian May: The Badgers, the Farmers and Me

Ten years ago, Sir Brian May began a campaign to stop the UK badger cull and uncover the truth behind the spread of bovine TB. But would anyone listen to a 'ranting rock star'?

BBC iPlayer

@AutisticMumTo3 The whole TB thing is a sick joke. A toxic mix of overpowerful farming lobby groups and politicians who've never got the soles of their £1000 shoes muddy.

Utter disgrace that has the ironic outcome of not actually resolving the problem.

Farmers always have only one solution to any problem: shoot it.

@JanPV
Even those farmers who want another solution are left with shoot it as the only solution by the govt. And that program shows there are some farmers who want a different solution.
@AutisticMumTo3 Indeed. A solution that works might be better for them than a solution that merely feels good. They've been hoodwinked by gov't as well - they always want the appearance of doing something, quick.
@JanPV
Agreed there has been a lot of hoodwinking by govt on this issue
