Folks who are gonna be in
#Sydney in about a month (21 Sept.) ... we're hosting our huge annual Astronomy Open Night on campus (Macquarie Uni.) which is a fun-filled family night where you can look through telescopes, do science experiments, hear talks and more!
https://event.mq.edu.au/astronomy-open-night/
I'll be giving a short talk titled 'Evil Astrophysics – Using Pulsars as a Supervillain', blending astrophysics, Sci-Fi and comics!
Lots of other great talks from our team as well: https://event.mq.edu.au/astronomy-open-night/short-talks
And plenty of activities to do: https://event.mq.edu.au/astronomy-open-night/activities
It's always a really fun night, and young folks love it as they get to look through telescopes, do laser graffiti, participate in physics experiments and hear from some of Australia's best scientists! We get about 2000 people attending annually..
Def. recommend bringing the fam to this!
