With the upcoming release of a new #Rollei #35AF I'd expect the #prizes of old Rollei 35 #analog #film #cameras become lower in the future. It probably won't affect the already cheaper models with the f3.5 #Zeiss #Triotar #lens (like 35B), however I suspect it will have more impact to the prize of the Rollei 35 cameras with the f2.8 #Sonnar lenses. It's probably a good thing, Rollei 35 is a fun little camera to own. It's small but strong, well built and can survive a lot.

#Rollei #35 is a weird #film #camera #format to remake. In a way I do understand what the developers are doing and as soon as I heard of it, I thought of course they will #reissue Rollei 35. If anything from the #135mm film era deserves (and would be feasible) resurrection, it should be this. However, the more I think about it, the less it makes sense. Most of all, I'm not convinced by the picture quality and it probably comes down to the #lens. Unfortunately, it's not possible to change this.

This is what #Pentax17 got right. Despite all the shortcomings, #Pentax put a #good #lens into their new camera and it shows, even with the less superior #half #frame #picture #format. Especially in a #good #daylight. The preprogrammed #exposure #modes are probably not adequate enough to produce stellar low-light #photos and this is where Pentax 17 fails, but when there is enough light it can really shine. I think this is very important for a #portable #consumer #oriented #analog #film #camera.
