President Biden did something Donald Trump could never do: He put his country over ego, ambition, and pride. He bowed out with grace and dignity.

His patriotism won out over any denial or wounded pride or false sense of infallibility.

For this and much else, we thank you, Joe.

@rbreich So much for Trump's "Biden Revenge" fantasies.

@rbreich I would love to see Biden explicitly address the issue of "too old to <X>". It happens to many older people in terms of driving, for others like him for other roles

Older people may feel non-vital when they can no longer fill the day-to-day roles. But their wisdom is critical in keeping mankind on the right path.

Biden can humanize this discussion and help us use our oldest as guides in teaching younger people the right way forward. We ignore them and relearn everything the hard way?

@rbreich

I’m having the same thought as I listen to this morning’s The Daily podcast. They opened by reporting how Joe Biden based his decision on the best interests of the Democratic Party.

To use power responsibly and step away at the right time has to be one of the highest of American ideals. Joe Biden demonstrated you don’t have to be George Washington to do it.

@rbreich Country over politics, is the sane and moral thing to do. Neither of which are within the action spectrum in Trump's gnat-sized brain.
@rbreich @secoiqq Yes, as a human being, Trump is woefully defective! No redeeming characteristics whatsoever, none! Anyone who supports the criminal must be either a total idiot or a sycophant, cut from the same evil, self-serving cloth as Trump himself.
@rbreich
He is a historic figure. We were here to witness his triumph.

Trump cannot even CLAIM to care about his country more he cares about himself.
