Big Journalism is engaged in a parody of fact checking at this point.

Trump gets ho-hum corrections -- often granularly parsed to give him endless benefits of the doubt -- and the fact-checkers don't even pretend to get to every lie.

Democrats get granular parsing, too. But the goal is to find falsehoods and never, ever give the benefit of the doubt.

Fact-checking is a sadly broken both-sides (even when one is lying) enterprise.

Not trying to dispute you here, because I agree with you. But a little curious is there are any recent examples (the past week) where this might be the case.

Check out Politfact coverage for Kamala Harris statement that Trump is planning on cutting Medicare. Even though every budget he submitted as president included cuts (though they were never enacted) and the project 2025 plan calls for cuts, they rated her statement as false.
