@jaykuo Interesting points! I assumed that they’re attacking the man because they see him as the leader on the ticket. People in general tend to assume the man in the room is the leader, no matter titles or other indicators to the contrary.

@jaykuo I assumed a part of it was that whenever they try to go after Kamala, they inevitably end up making racist and sexist comments rather than anything substantive, which they know is a losing strategy but are incapable of just...not...doing that.

@jaykuo I've been assuming it's their general assumption that white guys BELONG to them, especially white guys who are football coaches and military veterans. Remember their particular vitriol for the White Dudes for Harris call? How dare someone who resembles them in so many ways not be a woman-hating white supremacist like them?!

(As an occasional WorldConGoer who followed the Sad/Rabid Puppies debacle closely, I've observed a similar dynamic at play with that factions' very special grudge against author John Scalzi: It's such a betrayal for a white guy writing milSF not to be on their side! How can he be so much like them and yet not decry "checking diversity boxes" and "DEI Hugos" along with them?)
