I'd have a bit more sympathy if they had said "Yes, we fucked up badly, and we apologise, especially to the voters and the candidates. Could you please perhaps see your way clear to allowing us, in this instance, some more time to fix our mistake?"

Instead they have DEMANDED more time. As if it is their right to screw up without penalty.

Well, fuck 'em.
