🇳🇱 (🇬🇧👇) #tdff2024 #tdf #railhistory Vlak voor de finish in Grand-Bornand, reizen we van Annecy naar Thônes. Tot 1930 reed hier ook de Tramway d'Annecy à Thônes (TAT) (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tramway_d'Annecy_%C3%A0_Th%C3%B4nes). Deze lijn, geopend in 1898, was relatief steil, met hellingen tot 6%.
Bijgaande foto's geven een goed beeld van het dramatische landschap waar de lijn doorheen voerde, ze was erg populair onder toeristen!

From 1898 to 1930 the Tramway d'Annecy à Thônes (TAT) (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tramway_d'Annecy_%C3%A0_Th%C3%B4nes) covered the 22 km between them. The line was relatively steep, with grades up to 6%.

The photo's in the post (🇳🇱 ⬆️ ) show the dramatic landscape the line passed through. The line was very popular with tourists!
