Eliminating medical debt is amazing. Easiest way? Debt Jubilee, oversight and then transition to M4A.

But a subsidy for home purchases is a band aid, for all sorts of reasons (climate change induced costs) and the fact that property *inflation* has been defined as “building wealth” for 100 years. Prices need to go down, by a lot, like 75% and other means of financial security reached.

For the long term, aggressive anti trust and dismantling of corporate wealth networks is a must. 🧵

@rbreich can I make a comment as a non American. I follow anti Trump groups and they ridicule him for his speeches. I am not a Trump supporter but, many of their analyses of his speeches, or actions, overstate his mistakes. I really don’t see that, even from their edited clips, what he actually says is as bad as they make it. I don’t want the US voters to think it’s ok, he won’t win, on the evidence of many of these groups. Stop calling him stupid, he is anything but. Be honest.

@rbreich the possibility of a Trump presidency was discussed on CBC radio last week. If Harris wins, US-Canada relations will be status quo. If Trump wins, he will unilaterally impose a 10% tariff on Canadian and Mexican imports, which will be responded to in kind. That will increase inflation as Canada is the US's largest trading partner, causing the fed to raise interest rates. That is bad both for the average American, and the Wall St. sharks who borrow to buy stocks....i.e. Trump's peeps
