Savanta found that Musk was also deemed personally unpopular with the UK public ...

Musk is currently less popular with the UK public than all Conservative leadership candidates except Priti Patel (-30 ).

@cstross we're still on X for RADIOSPARX & AUDIOSPARX but lately the news he's a massive Trump donor has made us feel sick. We're looking for a kinder, nicer social platform, and hope MASTODON is IT. Keep in mind hashtags are everything here. Searching has improved making them less required but, they are encouraged. Helps with muting.

For example, I like #Music, especially #PinkFloyd. I have two #Cats and of course I follow the hashtag #caturday. I live in the #USA and I am #Retired from a career in #tech

Here you can also follow hashtags like you follow people! This is how things show-up in your feed.

@jchaven @cstross - fab advice, thanks so much. I really appreciate it. I had a personal Twitter account for 10 years with over 5K followers, then I shut it down, and breathed a sigh of relief. Have worked for RADIOSPARX-AUDIOSPARX for two years, and it's the best job. Check me out on LinkedIn if you want to know more about me. Another great thing about Mastodon/Fediverse is you control your validation (blue check on Twitter).

This is especially helpful on accounts representing an organization. It informs viewers that the account is an official account of that organization.

You know this is me because of all the green boxes on my profile.

Was going to do searches today on how to run a Mastodon account, but I'm seriously whacked now, and it's only 2.31pm in the UK :) I have interviews to do with our artists, real #musicians to talk to, so I'll save all this research for later, but your advice has been super-helpful.
