A skilift in a town I frequently visit is getting replaced after ~30 years of operation (1992 - 2024). I did my best to find photos / videos I took of it before hand and do a followup comparison shot. Some of these will come from different years with different phone cameras, so please excuse any stark changes to the before photo's quality.
Here's a short clip of the original bottom terminal when lift maintenance was doing maintenance.
Here's the new bottom terminal. No haul rope or chairs yet.
One of the improvements with the new lift is a reduction in towers. Here a tower shortly after the river was able to be removed.

Here they were able to remove another tower and condense the break-over from 2 towers to 1.
Here more towers were able to be condensed from 1 small break-over and 1 depression tower to just 1 combo tower.

The year before the replacement a tree fell on the old line (though was removed before the winter season).

The mid-station (which is like 2/3 the way up the mountain) is getting a major overhaul. From 5 towers down to 3, and having the towers be split so the unload doesn't need a platform and can just use the ground while light side can fly overhead.

Of all the before and after shots I've taken these 2 suffer the most because the platform I would use is just gone, and there's been a considerable amount of terraforming work done.

This is probably the steepest section of the lift line (a 40%-45% grade according to the maintenance guys I talked to), and they were able to reduce the number of towers yet again from 3 to just 1. And its really tall.

Of note with the new lift is that it seems most if not all the new towers are considerably taller - even poking above the treetops in some cases.

Check out how much these towers lean! This is near the top of that super steep run from earlier. I will for sure miss the old chairlift being closer to the ground

They were able to condense the number of towers for this final push from 6 to 3. Luckily its relatively flat here.
