It's simple, Prime Minister: X is for people who think that Britain is about to lock up everyone who isn't woke, Bluesky is for people who think that sounds like a terrific idea, and Threads is for people who have no idea what either of the others are on about.

Truth Social is for people who think they run the Internet, Nostr is for people who think they should run the internet, and Mastodon is for people who actually do run the Internet.
& 4Chan people don’t care as long as they have big tits.

Bluesky Social

And of course (for the youngns who have never watched the original), riffing off of the Yes Prime Minister description of British newspapers:

Do you think the picture is from yes minister or from yes prime minister seasons? i don't remember the details that well but my guess is yes pm.
@alper @tezoatlipoca @mathi_gwithyas I think I remember it from a yes minister episode, but I suspect they used the setup many many many times in both series
@mathi_gwithyas
Yeah, 4chan is leagues more fascist then bluesky. Also 4chan routinely attacks trans women for simply existing, big tits or no.
@mathi_gwithyas can I print it out and mail it to the PMs office? I am not on twitter unfortunately 🤣
@mathi_gwithyas I can imagine that last line delivered by Bernard.
@jackyan @mathi_gwithyas Came here to say this. 😂
…followed by a look of admonishment from Sir Humphrey…

@dgar Hawthorne was so good at doing that look!

@mathi_gwithyas

@mathi_gwithyas @jackyan
…and then the look of guilt from Bernard as he realises that he misspoke. 😂
@mathi_gwithyas This should be recorded and sent to the moon so visitors know whats what

@mathi_gwithyas

Tailored madness and ignorance for everyone! Except for Mastodon. It is the actual role-model.

@mathi_gwithyas Dave Allen did a similar riff on British newspapers on his show, though I couldn't say whether his predates Yes, Minister.
@mathi_gwithyas This actually looks like the most accurate description I've seen so far!
Who reads the papers? - Yes, Prime Minister - BBC comedy

@mathi_gwithyas I would change the last two words for "sharpie in p**per" or just "pix".
@mathi_gwithyas I’ve never heard of nostr, but it looks pretty cool
@mathi_gwithyas The bullseye, on-the-mark, spot on accuracy of this is equal parts comical and horrifying.
@mathi_gwithyas Reporting this as "too many facts for one post".
@mathi_gwithyas
Not sure I agree with all of these, but I appreciate the "Yes Minister" plug :D
@fusselwurm Yeah some of them didn’t feel quite right (I copied and collated them) and I thought about making edits but then it would have strayed even further from the Yes Minister style and gone over the character limit
@mathi_gwithyas I vaguely remember the original quote about what newspapers people read from the show. I thought it was brilliant then and still do.
@mathi_gwithyas This fits perfectly with the thesis of #Welchering2024, an academic who studies journalism, who discusses in his paper the Fediverse vs #GAMAM that the choice of a platform is a mean of social distinction, media usage is a practice linked to a habitus and an indicator for social status, and the chosen platform is an instance of socialization that reveals which groups are associated with which judgments of taste
@mathi_gwithyas "Threads is for people who have no idea what either of the others are on about" is by far the most accurate. It's far to mainstream.
@mathi_gwithyas Oh I do like these descriptions! Better than most I have seen with the comparisons.
