what the fuck happened here
@mjdxp Some accomplished rules lawyer found a loophole 😏

@mjdxp In one of the xkcd IRC rooms, someone once announced that they had gone into labor by typing "brb, childbirth"

On the xkcdb quote site, the editor added a note revealing the baby's name and birth weight. Sadly, Wayback Machine's records of the site are somewhat cursed, as you can see.

@mjdxp Update: I spent some time learning some basic Python web scraping to see if I could build a posthumous archive of the site, using Wayback Machine APIs. Then I checked the actual site on a whim, and it was back up.

Anyway, here's the quote in question: http://www.xkcdb.com/6777

XKCDB: The #xkcd Quote Database

@mjdxp (If you go digging through that site, just know that it goes back to 2006-ish, so some of the early quotes contain language that those people probably would not use today.)
@curtmack @mjdxp oh man I forgot about xkcdb. I used to hang out on -pub a ton back in the day. still friends with a lot of people from there (played D&D with one tonight actually!)
@mjdxp Is that how JD Vance happened?
@mjdxp and people ask me why i never join voip. also this was like the third time it had happened in that server too
@mjdxp LOL I don't even need to know the exact discord server but I'm very curious the type of community this was... Like was this a crochet discord? Blink 182 fans? Sky divers? WAS IT A MOMS TO BE DISCORD??? πŸ˜‚ (personally, I would allow it if it was)
The more innocent and unrelated the community the more hilarious this is to me. I want it to be a bunch of Remote Car Enthusiasts to have jumped in #RF-Troubleshooting-VC and just heard a clipped mic swearing and screaming
@mjdxp Sounds like an American employee with typical American "healthcare" and leave "benefits".
@[email protected] the average Discord user experience
@mjdxp @ellesaurus It’s 7:46 and I’m done with internet for today.
@mjdxp Yeah, you should give birth in videochat instead
@mjdxp the kid is cooked πŸ’€
@mjdxp looking submissive and breedable got taken a bit too far
@mjdxp Reminds me of this one
