I wrote a piece discussing Theodore Roosevelt's Progressive policies and political stances, mainly how he left the GOP in 1912 to form the Progressive Party. He did so, believing the Republicans had abandoned the average person because they had. Nowadays, conservatives would most likely label him a Socialist.
