Elon Musk keeps predicting civil war in the UK. That's nonsense, as we can see from the massive turnout of decent, peace-loving, tolerant citizens who stood against a tiny number of thuggish racists.

The reason Musk holds this belief is that he has completely surrounded himself on Twitter with people exactly like the racist hoodlums who have been terrorizing immigrants and asylum seekers. He's created his own not-so-little bubble of fashdom, and believes it represents a majority. He's wrong.

@bodhipaksa How much must it cost to have two rows of cops to make sure these folks can be heard? Why are we doing that? If the cops go home, so do the racists in this picture.
@Rain I don't think any of the racists were heard, and that police were there to protect them from the much larger crowd (even though they were peaceful).
@bodhipaksa Enh. They could have escorted them away instead of standing there and letting them talk.
@Rain I have no idea what their game plan was or what they did after this photograph was taken. Perhaps they did escort them away? (Although I imagine that would have been challenging, given the extent of turn surrounding crowd.) Do you happen to know?
@bodhipaksa Not specifically, but I’ve been to rallies like this before, and the police tend to try to “keep the peace” by protecting the provocateurs from any consequences of their speech. The end result looks a lot like this picture, so I made the assumption that the same thing was happening here.
