I honestly don't understand the electoralist belief that if anarchists dunk on Harris for being a cop that will somehow cause her to lose votes to the fascist.

These people can't give an account of causality. They operate in a world of pure spectacle and vibes.

@rechelon I want to live in this alternate universe where liberals listen to anarchists and don’t have law-and-order beliefs.
@rechelon it kind of reminds me of the weird crypto-tankie excuse for hating criticism of other countries. Sure Putin is bad but you can’t say that out loud! Because you, a random person on the internet, have the power to empower US militarism by straightforwardly describing reality.
@rechelon I suspect the imagined mechanism is via the belief that most of the voting electorate is operating in a world of pure spectacle and vibes. Gotta keep the vibes clean to keep the votes flowing.
@rechelon If we point out that the Palestinian who was r*ped to death on video was a civilian police officer, that might shift public opinion against Israel
@rechelon "They operate in a world of pure spectacle and vibes" - they're on board with the whole media fantasy world. NYT would be comically out of touch if it weren't so influential

@rechelon the tough piece of cognitive bias is that its intuitive, beliefs are considered sacred and integral to the person, so we live in a sort of babbel where we cant collectively solve problems with logic because the preponderance of people operate on bias and heuristic and thier core beliefs are adopted by default instead of attained through empirical study

So yeah, the vibes are real, sorry.

@rechelon They're just mad that we're criticizing their favorite team. It's just sports to them.
