It disturbing how in the Linux world there seems to be more prejudice than anything else. It feels like it’s becoming such a damn toxic environment. Not everywhere, not in every project, but it's that type of user who prioritizes their biases over evaluating the final product that perplexes me. Even more disturbing is when people blindfold themselves to other projects just because they’re fond of one, leading them to talk about others superficially. Or maybe it’s always been this way?
@mirkobrombin I think it is a human being thing of having to choose and defending "flags" over values and other most important things. Was always like this to be honest. I'm in the Linux community for almost 2 decades and I actually saw it improving for a while but since everything tends to walk in circles, these toxic people always come back, especially when adoption is rising.
@mirkobrombin The "purists", just like any other conservative shit we see everywhere, try to gatekeep people because this makes them feel special and get attention.
They need to f**ing solve their child traumas honestly.
@flaviofearn But in general it is really tedious to dialogue with certain people, sometimes it is worth not even starting a discussion but it is not always necessarily productive since their “polluted” point of view will easily become the point of view of other individuals
@mirkobrombin yes. And everytime we este more time with that person they start to get more and more attention and with it comes other people that will take their side.
If we are talking with someone and they won't listen then it's not a dialog anymore an doesn't worth it.
