For those trapped in heat waves or domes (or the rest of us who need puffins) here’s a very determined Antarctic guy for coolant.

He looks like he’s late for something he really doesn’t care to attend.

@SherBeareth When do you sleep? I often wonder? I mean, I barely sleep, up all night.. but so are you? BTW. About 3 miles offshore, and about 6 miles from my boat launch, is an island that Puffins nest on. There's only a dozen places, only about 3 are publicly know, the big places. But, my boat is small and the sea is rough, I've been trying to get out in spring to see the puffins. It's been 50 years since I saw them there.

@Rasta Do sail to the Puffins!! I’ve sailed near their villages off the coast of Maine several times. They are protected. For now.

I’m also plagued with short sleep hours. Three here, four there, a night owl who loves early morning. A bit. So I write and visit the other Mastodon peeps and pets — and snack, naturally. Red grapes and Fritos tonight. And I have an Almond Joy at the ready. 🌴

@SherBeareth They aren't ready yet, but we have grapes everywhere. Formerly, I built a fence between the properties, and planted grape vines. IN the summer, the lattice fence provided great privacy with grape leaves. My neighbour whined and wanted a different fence, and dug up bushes of mine, so I removed my grapes and restarted them elsewhere. Will take a few years to return to full size but we have a huge yield every year, racing the birds to them.
Mornings are my thing.
@Rasta Oh that’s fabulous. We only have Concord for jam and tart grape flavoring. What don’t you have? So cool.
@SherBeareth That's my mission. I want some of everything. I bought two types of Currant bushes last year, they had about 3 berries each, so far. Grapes, cultivated raspberry field, cultivated wild blueberry field, strawberries (wild and tame), no cranberries in my yard but we pick nearby in Fall. Our freezer supplies us all winter and my wife won't let me buy jam. There's rows of assorted jams and jellies in the cool storage room downstairs. My wife does all these things.
@SherBeareth The concords look like grape jelly, the yellow ones we have taste the same in jam but come out GREY from the colours and look gross. When she gives others bottles of jam, she give the blue concord grape jelly, we keep the grey looking ones for ourselves. Same grape taste.
@Rasta @SherBeareth concords are jelly grapes add purple grape jello for the other grapes to see if color is better or add blueberries...I add red cherry jello to cherries for jelly and jams to improve color and less sugar ...

@Lstn2urmama @Rasta

That’s a fabulous trick. I will definitely give it a try. thank you. Less sugar works. 😊 We should raid Rasta’s copious 🇨🇦 orchard and Berrry Farms and bring Jello. Wink.

@SherBeareth @Rasta He has been holding out I must agree...😆 I have never seen cherry trees so high where need actual cherry picker machines...but he does share with the birds ...

I also Have used Agar expensive yet so much less sugar only half a cup and a tablespoon of Agar... BUT will experiment with actual seaweed and what comes of it ..🤔

@Lstn2urmama @Rasta Oh I love the seaweed gelatin idea.
@SherBeareth will have to see if it works and is not fishy or too green also 😆
