Kamala Picking Governor Walz for VP Is a Win for the Right-to-Repair Movement

The Minnesota governor signed one of the country’s most consequential and expansive laws aimed at helping people fix their own stuff.

@mvario John Deere tried to stop farmers from fixing their own equipment. Walz stopped that. The GOP did not.

@mickymorse

Got a site where I can find out more? My go-to site for right-to-repair and John Deere stories is Techdirt and the only Walz story they have is him blocking some big telecom bills to help community broadband. And googling "Deere" and "Walz" throws up a ton of stuff none of which seem relevant from the blurbs.

@mickymorse @mvario

Republicans think you should be able to "fix" queer children but not tractors

(Just to be super clear, there is nothing wrong with queer kids and "fixing" them will only cause terrible damage)

@mickymorse @mvario

They think they own their kids and John Deere owns the tractors. Umbrellas

@mvario Now I like him even more! Someone needs to stop these multinational companies turning every broken $5 lightbulb into a $1000 visit to the main dealership garage.

@mvario I don’t always repair my own vehicles, but when I do, I also like to wear white pants and a blazer!

(Kidding aside, I’m all for right-to-repair)
