In case you haven't seen it, what's happening right now on Twitter is hilarious.
Elon Musk is carrying on with his ludicrous accusations about the U.K.- Civil War, Immigrant driven societal breakdown, two tier system, white lives matter, yada yada yada.

He's tagging U.K. Prime Minister Kier Starmer into every post. Starmer's ignoring him, all Starmer's ministers and MPs are ignoring him. It's absolutely driving Musk nuts.

It's beautiful. Musk has turned into Starmer's Reply Guy.

#UKPolitics

OK, so I better say that Elon Musk turning into Keir Starmer's Reply Guy on Twitter is hilarious and beautiful, but not the rest of it.

We already know it's the white supremacists playground, but the last few days has spiralled out of all control. If the n word, actual death threats and actual death threats using the n word do not violate their code of conduct, what does?

Time to pull the plug.

Twitter Update:

The N word, death threats, or death threats using the n word don't violate the twitter code of conduct any more, they're all fine.

Just don't call Republicans the W word.

Wingnuts. It's Wingnuts. Describing Republicans as Wingnuts now violates the Twitter code of conduct, and I only wish I was joking.

@ProjectFearlessness

better still, just quit #Xitter

@Captain_Jack_Sparrow
It's not about just quitting Twitter. Not using it doesn't protect you from the real world consequences of their actions. Ask anybody in the U.K. this week.

@ProjectFearlessness

you don't need to tell me that, but boycotting musk is a good place to start

@Captain_Jack_Sparrow
That's fair. It is a good place to start, but not enough on its own.

@ProjectFearlessness

If enough normal people quit #twitter, it just becomes a larger version of "truthcocial" or "parler" and eventually the media will leave it, starting with the bbc. Because they dont want to be associated with hard right bias.

More people will move to the fediverse, and hopefully that will be a good thing.

and #Musk will lose his little media empire.

#Xitter #elomnusk #boycottxitter

@Captain_Jack_Sparrow
I totally agree, but the problem is that only works IF everybody leaves Twitter. In the meantime, it's a danger to life.
@ProjectFearlessness @Captain_Jack_Sparrow Not using 4-chan doesn't protect you from Anonymous either, but I still don't use it or x-chan.

@ProjectFearlessness

better yet, how about just deleting twitter and facebook

i did years ago and never missed either

@samiamsam
I haven't been on Facebook or Twitter for years either but that doesn't protect me from the very real world consequences of their actions. I can't just sit on Mastodon and pretend nothing is happening.
@ProjectFearlessness Thought X was all about free speech? well, it is, just only for republicans. that... is the silent part said out loud.
@sparksexist
Yep. They're not even hiding it now.
@ProjectFearlessness
apparently he's also suing companies for not advertising on his shitshow. what a creepy weirdo.
@BradKarch
Yes, there's that. Also, I think Musk is interviewing Trump, live on Twitter. Stereo creepy weirdo.
@ProjectFearlessness This level of idiocy is up there with ‘never get involved in a land war in Asia’.
@BashStKid
Tonight, Musk is an idiotic man baby desperately craving attention. He's not getting it and it will be killing him.
@ProjectFearlessness
Coming from a war-torn African nation, I'm witnessing firsthand the catastrophic impact of Shitter...
How it became a safe haven for all sort of criminals.
How violance, intimidation, abuse and blackmail are the norm there.
And how we can do absolutely nothing about it!
Yet, we are trapped, relying on it for crucial, timely information.
With lives on the line, we make life-or-death decisions based on this toxic platform, because war doesn't allow for careful verification.
@mush42
Exactly. We've seen the damage social media has done in many countries for years. In the west we say that's terrible, and do nothing about it.
Like so many other things, it's not a problem we do anything about until starts happening to us.
We have to get better at this.
