THING1 & THING2 would like y'all to know Tim Walz was the difference they were waiting for.

they were waiting to know who was going to be Harris' VP and so all the folks in their circles of friends. the conversations have been how none wanted a younger version of Biden for VP. am talking +30 votes connected to my 2 #Zillennials.

now there's the issue of #Gaza & #genocide.

T2 said just now: "i do not know what this is am feeling. is this hope?"

this is a BFD.

#2024Elections #USpol

ALSO
this may well be because they're my sons but apparently #Zillennials like former unionized teachers as politicians... A LOT.
@blogdiva
What about Walz that's so appealing to them?
@alter_kaker check my TL. i've been boosting a lot of the positives people have posted.

@blogdiva @alter_kaker

Some good stuff.

It's important to keep in mind, however, this guy was also the one in charge while the Line 3 protesters got teargassed and locked up, and the pipeline went through.

Free school lunches are great and all, but it's important for the kids to have clean water to drink and clean air to breathe and to not be overheating or underwater while they're eating.

@blogdiva
I've been keeping an eye on your TL. Walz is not a bad choice, but I'm from MN though so struggling to understand what they'd get _excited_ about with him. I mostly know him as the guy who sent National Guard tanks into my neighborhood... So maybe that downgrades the positives for me as I see you boosting them into not-negatives.

@blogdiva I have a Ukrainian grandmother staying with me. She had a tough life but thanks to her kids she moved to Odessa in 2010 and started a comfortable retirement where she could see her kids and her grandkids.

And then Putin did his crap.

I've promised to drive her back home to Odessa (from Galway). And today I texted a friend asking if he could house-sit next summer because for the first time I can see that as a possibility.
