I’d love to run a poll and ask how many people have actually worked on a political campaign. Not posted about it but actually worked.

But I’m not sure people would answer it honestly.

Anyway, this is my regular reminder to do more than post- please sign up to volunteer, get involved and listen to people out in the real world, encourage people to vote and tell them why you do, volunteer to be a poll worker, help people register and get to the polls.

We all have to do some real work here.

I did door knocking for the Warren campaign in LV which was a very eye-opening experience. It was women mostly who answered, and when I asked if they had decided who they were voting for, ~70% told me something akin to, "I'm not sure. My husband hasn't told me yet"

I did poll observer work in 2020 and 2022 and monitored the absentee vote counting in 2020 (where I learned how people in WitSec vote). I did poll observing in the primaries this year and will do so again in the general

@kims Wow. That husband observation is just 🤯 I mean, it's also a great example of the value of getting out of our bubbles and into the real world. Tells me what we're up against. Not that I didn't know this on some level already. But 70%? Ugh. Scary how the world actually works. I see why people prefer just fighting with strangers online.
