The reporting in MIT Tech Review is such a mixed bag. Some good critical work, some "look shiny!" tech reporting that at best quotes a few "skeptics" towards the bottom before returning to boosterism. This one is an example of that:

@emilymbender This reminds me of all those well-meaning but ignorant attempts by people who shared their designs for cheap ventilators during the height of COVID. It was obvious to those of us who use ventilators every day that they had no idea what these machines actually do. A guided discussion about a patient's wishes helps the family navigate through these issues as much as it is to come up with a yes/no decision about further treatment
