@kottke Lol -- I've always thought there must be a shortcut around the DMV that privileged folks know about. I've never seen anyone at my DMV who looked beautiful and rich. Or even slightly poised and put together.
@kottke One of my best celebrity experiences when I lived in LA in the late 90s was standing in line behind David Schwimmer to get my license renewed. He was clearly trying to keep a low profile and all the Angelenos in line maintained the social contract. Then he got to the front of the line and the DMV worker took his license, looked up at him, and then called the entire office over to meet him. Just a thing of beauty to experience.
