They won't. So the ball bounces back to us - what do we do when the WaPo helps advance Trump's racism?
Do we picket them?
Do we shame the reporters who do the dirty work?
Do we flood their email and phone lines?
What do we do to get them to realize that they need to stop advancing racism, stop covering for racism?

To paraphrase Charles de Gaulle, nations don't have friends; only interests. The same seems to apply to corporate journalism.
Having said that, Harris' nomination seems to be triggering a real sea change. We'll see how much of the media reverse their tack.
There's no point in keeping his racism and misogyny on the front page or blaring it from the rooftops; a lot of people don't care. There are people that know the words are bad, but just don't want to grasp the extent of it; or they think the claims are overblown, or just not that bad. Or, heck, for some of his supporters racism and misogyny are a *plus*.
Now, boosting his creepy-factor, his weirdness, his confusion - those are the things that will work.
