@lucasgonze @luka IMO If the instance is not dealing with abuse in a timely manner then I say ban hammer. Look just like running a mail server means being responsible and not allowing it to be an open relay for spam, maintaining your own instance comes with a moderation responsibilty - assuming you want that instance to remain in good standing. You might wish to create a nazi bar for the explicit purpose of carrying out anti-fascist operations.

@lucasgonze @nf3xn report these posters to your admin/mod and check the mark that the report is forwarded to admin of the instance the poster is on.

the KimCrayton's instance also has their own admin and mod and should (and are) take care of this.

but above all, don't think you can 'save' someone, make their experience on fedi nice or give unsolicited advice if they don't ask for it. Kim Crayton has made it perfectly clear why she is on fediverse and it's clear they know what they are doing.

@lucasgonze @nf3xn

(sorry I deleted a post that was eroneously claming an instance as abusive)

when you see abusive posts, you can do a bit of research if they are coming from an instance that harbours abusers and trolls and such, you can report that instance to your moderator/admin (via a DM or report on single user) and explain your research. this way you remove a bit of labor from your admin and you help your community.

@lucasgonze @nf3xn if content is on your instance, report it there using tools available on each post's menu. there's no reporting tool to report on another instance. it is not a common practice for someone from off-site to report off-site content - you would need to go through DMs. it's more common for mods and admins to talk to each other across instances about policies so they can decide to defederate if that case may be. you can ask your admin/mod to defederate a badly moderated instance.
@lucasgonze @nf3xn i have a feeling that timnit gebru herself is in mod capacity at dair
@luka @nf3xn I'm not sure about that. If so, I think it probably just happened and timnit hasn't had time to make changes. The place seemed pretty much abandoned when I was poking around.
