Went for a hike today and lost cell coverage. 👌
How about a user quiz? Name the state (USA).
I’m gotten a few guesses for the Pacific Northwest et al., but they’ve all been wrong so far. We have a trip planned for tomorrow that might help folks refine their answers. I’ll share a pic or two. See you then. 👋
We did it again—lost cell coverage on an picturesque outing. Yesterday’s mountain meadow had some folks thinking we were in the Pacific Northwest. What if I told you today’s desert scene was taken about the same distance from our homebase as yesterday’s? Name that state!
And the answer is, “The Land of Enchantment.” See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Mexico

@Colarusso i was going to say california earlier, now i have to say it again, louder
@kellogh wrong side of the continental divide.

@Colarusso oooooh it’s ocean, mid-atlantic coast!

Virginia could work

@kellogh sorry. We’re land locked, but there is a space port about two hours drive from home base.
@Colarusso
State as in country or as in part of America?
@ddlyh sorry, should have clarified—which of the fifty United States?
@Colarusso Looks like the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.
@Colarusso feels west coast. Oregon?
@kellogh it does feel like that doesn’t it? Alas…
@Colarusso , California.
@Dr_Elizabeth97 good guess, but wrong side of the continental divide.
@Dr_Elizabeth97 too far east.
@D_J_Nathanson @Dr_Elizabeth97 nope. To help you zero in, here’s today’s outing, about the same distance from homebase as yesterday’s.
@Colarusso , you've been there before, I think, and I guessed wrong. I think I guessed Indiana Dunes National Park, which I would not guess again due to the first photo. I've lived in Indiana. Nothing looks like that in Indiana. Is it New Mexico?
@Dr_Elizabeth97 guilty as charged. It’s an annual trip. I grew up down the mountain in Alamogordo, and my wife and I were married up the mountain in Cloudcroft. So, yes New Mexico is the go to vacation spot.
@Colarusso hmmm Maine could be like this. Maine?
