This week's #Blendsday prompt is "acoustic." I had a go at a stylised visualisation of a sonar pulse, and made a little cave to explore

Edit: Whoops. I hadn't intended to start a new thread, The previous couple year's worth of Blendsday practice can be found here https://mastodon.social/@Cheeseness/107788743692376329

And here's a timelapse of that one coming together (I trimmed out the render time and laid the final render on top because an hour of watching digital paint dry isn't so exciting) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBNqZTouxYQ

For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made a start on three seashells, but didn't end up finishing it off

This week's #Blendsday activity is "Revisit an old project." I went back to this Chester model I made back in January to give him some fur. https://mastodon.social/@Cheeseness/111825425015897268

I'm rendering the animation again too, but I'm pretty sure it's not colliding with the surface properly. We'll see how it looks in an hour or two
\o/

Here's how the animation came out - not quite as bad as it was looking from the viewport preview, but still a lot of hair clipping through the body geometry
For the midweek session, I revisited this spaceship that never really came together during a previous #Blendsday session last year. Still don't think it's quite there, but it was fun to think about detailing https://mastodon.social/@Cheeseness/109967918582588344
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "blade." I made this shiny sword
And here's a timelapse of that one coming together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4Hu9Hq8I8s
#Blendsday modelling timelapse - Blade (2024-05-26)

YouTube
For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made a different kind of blade (and a little friend to live on it_, inspired by a piece of card art I made for one of my Hand of Fate 2 mods years ago
This week's #Blendsday prompt was igloo again. For the midweek session, I made this little low poly scene and then animated it too fast
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "cork." For the midweek session, I decided to poke around with my little icy scene from last week a bit more. Added more ocean tile variants, a little campfire, made the narwhal bob up and down, and re-centred the camera
This week's #Blendsday activity was "increasing interval studies" where we make a thing multiple times, taking more time with each iteration. I made this egret. Couldn't get much done in 30 seconds, but it fun interesting to try!
And here's a timelapse of today's session https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLGVR4-wLU8
#Blendsday modelling timelapse - Increasing Interval Studies (2024-06-16)

YouTube
For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made some trees (30 seconds, 1 minute, 10 minutes, and 20 minutes)
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "horsey." I made this horsey.
And here's a timelapse of that one coming together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHXARhQfwLE
#Blendsday modelling timelapse - Horsey (2024-06-23)

YouTube
For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made this sea horsey.
This week's #Blendsday prompt is planet. I made these little low poly planets from icospheres
I had initially wanted to make the planets sized to scale and have to (a different) scale distances too, but I couldn't find a good balance of the two scales that allowed Uranus to be in frame and the sun to not eat Mercury. The solar system is a very big, very empty place.
For the midweek #Blendsday session, I went back to my model from the weekend and created an animation that illustrates how far away Neptune is from the rest of the planets. I couldn't come up with a nice way to get a driver to control text content, so I made some tumblers and did a modular division of my scale multiplier to set their rotations.
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "board." I made this pool scene with a diving board
And here's a timelapse of that one coming together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f67mgj8lP7A
#Blendsday modelling timelapse - Board (2024-07-07)

YouTube
For the midweek session, I modelled roundbord (a femle blackbird who visits my yard)
This week's #Blendsday activity is "three moods" where we're invited to create a simple scene with primitives, and then use techniques other than modelling to try and express three different moods from the same scene. I made a little snowglobe and tried to use different camera framing to give different senses of "intimacy."
For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made a quick city
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "frog." I made this little cubefrog
Tried a few extra iterations to see if there was anything I liked better than cubefrog. Cubefrog is best frog though
And here's a timelapse of all that coming together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLun6TW-s0w

YouTube
Was hoping to have time to do some sculpting for the midweek #Blendsday session, but I've got a bunch of work to get done, so I gave my little cubefrog some friends and tightened up the animation a little
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "Bucket." I made Bucket from Firewatch (or how I imagine Bucket to look - don't think I quite captured his "scruffyness"
And here's a timelapse of that one coming together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb7Qk4MjhuY

YouTube
Had a couple of good WIP moments along the way with this one
For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made this well
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "fence." I made Inigo's sword from The Princess Bride
And here's a timelapse of that one coming together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHJNpbRCRXU
#Blendsday modelling timelapse - Fence (2024-08-04)

YouTube
For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made the thieves' guild scene from Quest for Glory 1, where you go to fence your stuff. Was hoping to add in a bunch more extra faces with different colours like the pattern on the back of the guildmaster's chair and use compositing to crunch it back down to a proper EGA palette, and also add the red brick frame around the scene as seen in-game, but I ran out of time this afternoon
The prompt for this week's #Blendsday activity is "childhood memory" - I made another one of my first Transformers toys - Cosmos. I focused more on building out the parts instead of detailing, so it looks a bit plain, but I might be able to animate it for the midweek session
And here's a timelapse of that one coming together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgGhi720m7M

This week's #Blendsday prompt is "facet." I had a go at trying to recreate the glowy crystal material I made (wholly by accident) for FLAT a billion years ago

Edit: Added a screenshot for comparison. You can download my cool cool sci fi ice skating combat pew pew game here https://cheeseness.itch.io/flat

For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made this little billy scene
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "clock." I made this old timey solar powered clock
For the midweek #Blendsday session, I animated my sundial from the weekend session and added some textures (made them way too big though >_< )
This week's #Blendsday activity is "variations on a theme" so I made a bunch of different trees
This week's #Blendsday prompt is "fish." I made this fish mobile

For the midweek #Blendsday session, I made this little fish scene and animated it entirely with drivers
Continuing with the fishy theme, this week's #Blendsday prompt is "shark." I made this card shark

For the midweek #Blendsday session, I sculpted this sharkmans. Don't have a lot of energy today, so I pulled up stumps here.
@Cheeseness totally remember that guy! he was one of the cybertron->earth immigrants from the marvel US transformers run:
@jplebreton I love that he's a little spaceship escaping in a bigger spaceship.
@Cheeseness yeah there should totally be a little side story about the classic 50s scifi aliens that live inside him
@jplebreton I was imagining spaceships all the way down, but that's way more fun
@Cheeseness i like that too, spaceships within spaceships, whose only possible other imagined beings are other spaceships
@Cheeseness I'm pretty sure we had this toy at home when I was a kid
@eniko He was a good little spaceship guy
@Cheeseness Toy-accurate, huh? Got to say, definitely preferred the cartoon version.
@Sslaxx I've got more memories of playing with the toy than watching the show, so that's what fit the prompt
@Cheeseness I have never seen its equal.
@Cheeseness I would sooner destroy a stained glass window than an artist like yourself
