If people just fucking listened to trans kids and trans people in general, they would know the biggest threats to us aren't social media but narcissistic, abusive parents, legislators banning our access to necessary care, and widespread discriminatory systems that promote violence against us.

But they don't want to listen.

@gwynnion We had this bizare comedy show based halfway on facts about the labour party in Norway during the late 70s and early 80s, and partly on "made up stuff", it was the most bizarre show i have ever seen, it was at times very ligh hearted and at time it pointed to a lot of "wtf" of the time.

One thing it did well though, was kinda point out that a lot of even the socialist movement, was based heavily on "traditional family", though centered a bit more towards working families, it showcased that the left is often as conservative about a lot of stuff as the right, it is more a "different distribution".

What struck me was the portrait of Nini, daugher of prominent politician Thorvald Stoltenberg (served foreign minister) and brother of Jens Stoltenberg (served as prime minister). While her early death and drug abuse was well known, the show pointed to her kind, caring, inclusive, hence "rebel youth" past.

Of the people in her family, SHE was the one that deserved to serve in politics. (cont...)

@gwynnion But I feel that this is the problem in almost any span of politics, it is hard for "kind, caring" people to make it, it is a battle, a fight to power, and hence "regular neurotypical people" are the successful ones, no matter the party.

They are not the one that will understand or even really care much for gender queer peeps, they will not understand people suffering from lack of energy, etc.

That's why you get this, a political family where the "regular hard working men" clim the ranks, while the daughter, that would be someone that could make a real difference, was beaten by the system.

We don't get people that care because the political arena is built for people that can "ignore suffering" when needed, that can "take the difficult choises", basically meaning, be ok that someone will suffer, because "you cannot please everyone".

Sacrifice gender queer people for potential other voters? Well, "fair distribution of wages is the important part for socialists, not gender..."
