I regret to inform you that I’m really into hiking now.
I didn’t take a lot of snapshots on my solo hike to Rouge Park last weekend, but I did take some, plus a short video of a passing freight train. #RougePark #hiking
The aforementioned passing freight train:
There were a few bad parts, but the good parts of my hike today to Presqu'île Provincial Park were pretty good. #hiking
I heard a lot of French spoken today. Like wow, a lot.
I didn’t play all of the location-based games I normally play (the beach part of the day, if it wasn’t a fiasco, would have been my best chance to stand on a microconfluence), but I did have the presence of mind to take two snapshots for the Shitty Camera Challenge.
I biked to the bus that took me to the hike, and then biked home from the bus that took me home, and I wonder if the Richard that spent whole weeks at his computer while living in a bachelor suite in Burnaby could imagine anything remotely like this.
All signs point to me biking to Tommy Thompson Park on Sunday, then walking the Leslie Street Spit Trail in Tommy Thompson Park, and then biking home from Tommy Thompson Park. #TommyThompsonPark
I’ve decided not to go to Tommy Thompson Park today, not because of the weather, but because it’s flat and has no tree cover. Maybe I’ll bike the Leslie Street Spit Trail one day.
I decided to hike the Moore Park Ravine and David Balfour Park and the Don Valley Brickworks Park instead. It was a lot more concrete that I thought it would, due mostly to the “trail” going through Mount Pleasant Cemetery. #hiking #Toronto https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/afternoon-hike-at-moore-park-ravine-and-david-balfour-park-23529b0?p
The snapshots of today’s hike are up on Flickr. https://www.flickr.com/photos/sillygwailo/albums/72177720319617412/

I could use a guide to buying hiking and snowshoeing gear in Toronto that doesn’t involve shopping at MEC.
I suspect that my running years are over. This year is the start of my hiking years. For details about the races I’ve entered over the past decade or so, visit https://justagwailo.com/running

@sillygwailo wait wut r u injured?
@roland No, I just don’t like running anymore.
@sillygwailo I get that! I on the other hand in a fit of lunacy or something :-) want to start running to improve my uphill cross country skiing. I will start by walking 2/3 up Clark park hill on 15th , 1/3 running
Here’s a minute-long video of Little Rouge Creek as seen from a wooded area. You’re welcome in advance. #Toronto #RougePark #hiking

I regret to inform you that I will also be really into winter hiking, having just bought spikes for my hiking shoes.
Two short hikes in Rouge Park today.
On the first hike, I saw salmon swimming up stream to spawn. Pretty cool! https://www.strava.com/activities/12583008567
I even got close to a microconfluence on that hike. Details to come.
On the second hike, I cut it short so that I could make the bus back. If I hadn’t, I’d still be on my way back. No regrets. https://www.strava.com/activities/12584587355
I regret to inform you that I am so into hiking now that I’m in the market for nice hiking pants. The purchase decision was harder to make than I thought it would be today, but I should make that investment by next month.
I bought the pants. So expensive. I don’t even know when I’m going to wear them next.
@sillygwailo go hiking-pants-man go :-)
@sillygwailo lol life is too short for "regret for informing us" or something :-)
I posted a number of photos from my hike today at Mono Cliffs Provincial Park. #hiking #MonoCentre https://www.flickr.com/photos/sillygwailo/albums/72177720321686109/with/54111979597

Oops, somebody got a photo of me reading a book while I was trying to get some introvert recharging time during the lunch break of a group hike I was on yesterday.
