First full day at #LikaLodge , getting used to the heat & to relaxation : both desired & difficult in their special ways. Feeding the dog , petting the dog & hanging out in the hammock, under the klamboe .
Today I went “to town” by bike: to use WiFi in the #public #library & to buy tools. & burek! I met donkeys & found my fruit-heaven (џанарике! / ringlovi / mirabellen ) ! I also had a dip in the river/stream Otuća (not pictured). #LikaLodge #AssTodon
No internet till now / belated morning photos of chilling (wishfully!) at #LikaLodge : sunrise with mist, big bug, tea & hanging out in hammock , with new klamboe construction, while nibbling on fruit : Unter Den Linden ! #UnterDenLinden
Hard work & good times too at #LikaLodge : I’ve cleaned lots of poop deposited by dormice (Puh poop!) , and rearranged the furniture while I’m at it ;) plus sawn + hacked the wall decoration! Now I’m at the (private!?) swimming place - small river with a waterfall ! It’s still hot at 6PM but cool enough for a cycle-run to get here… Lovely!
It’s crazy hot at #LikaLodge today (& whole week) - I’m hiding from the sun inside , with emergency blankets as curtains & blinds, & tarp for shade too & it’s only July! It didn’t use to be like this… and indeed, the weather app says it’s +9 above the average!! Apparently 32C but it feels like 33C … ooohhh … #ClimateDiary

(partial) family reunion at #LikaLodge : my daughter Alisa & my mother (& her two siblings!) came to visit! Mileva, Marija, Mišo … & puh!
Alisa & me went swimming this evening! We met “kreeft / crawfish / račić” 🦞 & had refreshing time at the waterfall 😎 #LikaLodge
We also caught Puh / dormouse in a trap! 🪤 Now he’s a pet ;) and/or a prisoner. We made him a bigger “home” in a “secured” plastic box & we are feeding him, so he doesn’t have to steal food ;) & I don’t have to clean his poop from the floor in the morning! Maybe we catch the next two, too? I will let him go when I leave #LikaLodge
Puh saga continues! I caught a *second* puh, but — when I added him to the “home” , they started fighting — so I’ve let him out! #LikaLodge
Alisa’s last day at #LikaLodge : breakfast , bike trip, & dinner with cats in Gračac - before catching #nighttrain to Zagreb… & I’m cycling back tomorrow!
Escaping both the #HeatWave & my sadness that Alisa is gone from #LikaLodge - by creating a "rat's nest" for myself in the bathroom: smallest & coolest place in the house ! (because it has a roof-fan for ventilation, and an actual ceiling)
The Dog is back! I’ve fed her & cleaned some grass seeds off her, & now she’s snoring next to me :) #DogsOfMastodon #LikaLodge (let the sleeping dogs lie)
Night life at #LikaLodge : hacking the lamps with water bottles (thanks, Alisa!) - because there’s electricity problem (?!) in the Big House tonight ; moon above Kokerna ; Glow Bug , powered by her own glow - and illuminated by me.

Last full day at #LikaLodge was rainy : in the morning, clouds were obscuring mountains Lisac & Sedla (as seen from Kokerna) & unstable prognosis for the rest of the day was fairly accurate . I did have a walk with “the girls” to Greda, but no photos. Most of the day I was packing & cleaning & saying good-bye..
Day of travel - leaving #LikaLodge & Gračac - going to Stuttgart, via Zagreb. Last selfies with The Dog, Puh, spring, Lisac & Mićerete.
I’m #celebrating that one of my proposals was accepted / went to the Phase2! I’m treating myself to a cake & tea in #Zagreb (& to airco: it’s tropical outside!)
Trip continues: now I’m on a night train Zagreb-Stuttgart: what a luxury!! Bed on the lower level! Airco! Electricity! Tap! 4G! Bottle of cold water! Only one more companion ! I was on time, unpacked strategically, & now chilling 🥶 … plus catching very local landmarks (abandoned cement factory close to Nina’s house!) & the next little place: Zaprešić…
Back home, I’m welcomed by *two* cats! 🐈⬛ 🐈 : a guest & our own, who is surprisingly tolerant of the organge “mlem” fluff
