Via Liz Cheney:

JD Vance has pledged he would do what Mike Pence wouldn’t - overturn an election and illegally seize power. He says the president can ignore the rulings of our courts. He would capitulate to Russia and sacrifice the freedom of our allies in Ukraine. The Trump GOP is no longer the party of Lincoln, Reagan or the Constitution.

@GottaLaff someone needs to explain to Liz that the party ideologies swapped poles between Reagan and Lincoln.

There never was a party of Lincoln and Reagan.

@WagesOf Not really the point though

@GottaLaff I dunno, "we have a 100+ years history of honorable service" then claims a leader that shares no philosophical connection at all and a leader that, arguably, destroyed the social contract completely?

Liz Cheney displays the primary problem that modern Republicans all seem to. She believes the bald faced lies of the propaganda and actually thinks that her party are the good guys.

@WagesOf @GottaLaff

which is why I wish Dems would stop putting her name out there as some sort of bastion of rightie common sense and morality. She ain't us.

This problem with Trump for her is deeply personal and NOT ideological.

She voted with him EVERY time.

@artisanrox @WagesOf Dems put her name out there because some "swing voters" still listen to her.

They in no way glorify her or think she's something she's not.

She's a useful ally in this one regard. Period.

@GottaLaff @WagesOf

Still want to know how she'd *vote*. Even personally. Campaigning and voting are two different things.

I get the useful ally bit, but I hope her come-to-jezus is total. Don't like our useful allies intent on voting us into an Atwood novel because they can't get their heads screwed on straight.

@artisanrox @WagesOf What more does it take? She said she's voting for Biden, she's campaigning for him.

@GottaLaff @WagesOf

You didn't specifically say she's voting for him, and that's the difference between her being full of it and her actually driving votes from her...uh...folks.

An ally that still votes us into 1750 is not an ally.

I'm willing to gove her a pass but with these centrist righties, this started as a personal problem and not an ideological one.

Here are the prominent Republicans backing Biden over Trump

Six months out from Election Day, a small handful of prominent Republicans have crossed party lines to support President Biden in his 2024 rematch against former President Trump.  The endorsements come as most Republicans have started to coalesce around Trump. Here are notable Republicans who say they’ll back Biden over Trump in November, as well…

The Hill

@WagesOf @GottaLaff

well they're the good guys if you benefit from their polices like she did. I mean rich white people are doing extremely well
