amosnoooooooo macOS 15 beta conflates "Keyboard language" with "Emoji search language"
I used to be able to find 🍎 with "apple", now I have to search for "jabłko"
yeeeeees macOS 15 beta 3 fixed it! (you can now —again — search emojis by their English name even if your keyboard is set to Polish or whatever)
(I'm choosing to believe that they saw my post and RUSHED another macOS beta out the door

@fasterthanlime For some reason Apple has a very hard time understanding that there are people in this world that understand and speak multiple languages. Often at the same time.
niko@fasterthanlime I was about to say whether it was always the case but then I realized you were talking about macOS. Ever since iOS 17 the emoji search bar is “language-agnostic”, but before that I remember having to switch my keyboard language to search for emojis before that
