News: Linux 6.10 has been released.

Me: Awesome. Download and install the Linux kernel 6.10 && reboot.

Nvidia driver: Haha. K. Bye, and here is my gift to you *kernel panic*

Me: Pikachu face.

@nixCraft A good time to switch to team red or blue? :p
@nixCraft Yeah. You gotta wait like 2-4 weeks or something for support from nvidia.
@nixCraft the fact that i’ve experienced this so many times is a wakeup call to go AMD.
@nixCraft fk Nvidia. Try to use amd video cards
@nixCraft simply don't use Nvidia. I voted w/ my wallet, and boycotted this closed company long before it was cool for 25 years already ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@nixCraft Aaah yes I have heard about this happening on kernal updates. Kinda why I just stick with the repo nvidia drivers. I know they not the best, but much less hassle ^_^
@nixCraft Real linux users: First backup, then uninstall Nvidia driver, reboot. Install new kernel, second reboot. Re-install Nvidia driver back, third reboot. And the system is working fine without any issues. Optional: remove backup to have some free place. Done.
@nixCraft use nouveau driver open source else u must use DKMS to build kernel after each update
@nixCraft that's why I bought AMD, the GPU is almost same power wise but at least all of its features are functioning
@nixCraft what distro, unless it's a rolling release. I don't see the point in upgrading the kernel unless you need it for something.
@nixCraft Picachu face vs. Thorvald's finger...
