The problem with the “Death Note” model of just killing all the bad people in the world is that there’ll always be someone to replace them.

Permanent, real solutions are far more complex and take far more time than just “getting rid of” problematic people. #anime

@Akido37 The problem isn't its technical effectiveness because it very much reduces the number of repeat offenders and intimidates others into avoiding those actions. The problem is the accuracy and integrity of the systems that determine guilt.

The more extreme the risk, the greater lengths someone will go to not be caught. Rape victims become abduction/slavery/murder victims and their property destroyed, likely with indiscriminant and possibly spreading means like fire to remove as much evidence as possible and cause as much confusion as possible. This is compounded with false evidence to incriminate someone else to stop further investigation.

On that note, it also makes the system an effective way to murder someone you otherwise wouldn't get away with. Frame them for a crime and manipulate the system from a position of power to output the result you want to get them killed by the state.
