@davidga @aurynn There's suspicion that Threads' embrace of the Fediverse is just an "embrace and extinguish" strategy to lure people to Threads. When other instances block Threads that strategy becomes less effective.

It seems like a question of how much abuse you're willing to let into your community in order for people to get a little further reach for their posts.

I don't think it's a particularly great trade myself. If threads was literally any other instance they would have been almost universally blocked for abuse and there would have been no drama about it at all.
