yeah so microsoft just fucking lied about not forcing copilot, cos of course they did https://www.tomshardware.com/software/windows/windows-10-gets-copilot-as-part-of-mandatory-update
Windows 10 gets Copilot as part of mandatory update — turns AI widget into a full-fledged app on the taskbar

Microsoft is turning Copilot from a widget into an app.

@davidgerard I had to switch to Mac because I needed Logic Pro. I've second-guessed that decision from time to time, but at this point even with Apple being control freaks, it's still easier to get a Mac to do the things I want with how much garbage Microsoft is forcing on people.

I would go whole hog and switch to Linux, but unfortunately I need some software that won't run on it

@reillypascal @davidgerard you'd be surprised what software runs on Linux these days...
@mlabowicz I specifically need Max/MSP and either Finale or Dorico for music notation. I've used Pd (similar to Max) but I really don't like the UX. MuseScore and LilyPond seem to be the only option for music notation. MuseScore is really not feasible for making scores look professional, and I don't like the LilyPond workflow. Looks like the only good option is to use WINE, and I don't want to risk running live concert audio on Max through WINE.
@reillypascal makes sense, agree with not relying on wine for production use. You could dual boot for that usage though
