For the first time, we are issuing preliminary findings under the Digital Services Act.
In our view, X does not comply in areas linked to:
▪️ Dark patterns
▪️ Advertising transparency
▪️ Data access for researchers
We will ensure that all platforms comply with EU legislation.
@EUCommission Cool, this is actually hinting at the kind of thing I'd like for all communication systems: a sort of "characteristics profile" or "description of behaviour, from the most local context (e.g. a single utterance in a Mastodon post) to most global (e.g. the entire Fediverse)".
The dream being for each Mastodon instance to have such a characteristics profile, which we may use to help us decide whether to join / leave an instance.
