After four years of dodging Covid, it found me and we’re spending uncomfortable time together.

I’m glad it’s milder now and my body knows what to do thanks to vaccines, and the weirdest part is my warped sense of taste.

Cooking and eating anything, even drinking coffee, is like playing a piano with welding gloves: familiar motions and sounds, but the music is distinctly gone. Beige gloop seems more reasonable than usual.

@mattrambles Oh no. I'm sorry, Matt. Rest up and hoping your body and tastebuds bounce back.
@mattrambles oof, I just had my first bout with it a couple of weeks ago and can relate. Take care of yourself…
@ruralocity Thanks, Aaron! I hope that means you’re done with it and back to normal.
@mattrambles ugghhh I'm so sorry. Hope it's mild and over soon 💜
@mattrambles oof. Get well Matt!
@greg Thanks, Greg! 🙏
@mattrambles my son went to Italy for a wedding and the whole wedding party came back to the states with covid. I think it’s his third time now. He did lose his sense of smell this time. Not sure if he has it back yet.

@greg How miserable! Seems like there should be a punch card so at least if you get it three times you get to skip the fourth one or something.

How long ago was the trip?

@mattrambles haha yeah. I think he got back about three weeks ago. I texted him to see if his smell returned but like any child he ghosted me lol
@mattrambles Oh no! What I've heard is to take it easy, even way more easier than you think you need, physically, mentally.... Wishing you the best, and a speedy, complete recovery!
