Probably checking for the resistance or people they can torture for such information.

The "Kurdistan Region of Iraq" government held by Erdoğan's quisling-party in the area, KDP, ignores and has previously aided the invasion,
while the federal government is held hostage by the KDP holding the ability to cause it to fall, as well as having grabbed key positions like Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq.

Not just their fields of crops, but also tractor needed for future agriculture, was burned by Turkey's army invading to further occupy Iraq's Kurdistan Region, with long declared intent to illegally annex.

Their systematic actions clearly are intentionally targeted against the region's majority Kurdish people as a group and as the same group is similarly targeted in Erdoğan's other war of aggression as well as domestically in the likewise unilaterally restarted civil war, for deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.
The last part of the previous sentence is exactly and in full definition "c" of what "genocide means" in the "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide".
