Turkey's military occupation of northern Iraq/southern Kurdistan now has set up a checkpoint on the road to check identities of the people between two locations (Berwarî and Amedi) reports StêrkTV.
Probably checking for the resistance or people they can torture for such information.
The "Kurdistan Region of Iraq" government held by Erdoğan's quisling-party in the area, KDP, ignores and has previously aided the invasion,
while the federal government is held hostage by the KDP holding the ability to cause it to fall, as well as having grabbed key positions like Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq.
"The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) have set up checkpoints 35km within the territory of the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), stopping and interrogating local traffic while distributing leaflets thanking them for their cooperation. [...]
[...] in addition to deploying hundreds of tanks and armoured vehicles around the Matina region in Duhok province, a high-ranking Turkish delegation is likely to visit Baghdad. In the past 10 days, Turkey has deployed 300 tanks and armoured vehicles to Iraqi Kurdistan."
https://medyanews.net/turkish-soldiers-set-up-checkpoints-deep-in-iraqi-kurdistan/
"While images from the ground confirm the media reports that Turkish troops have set up checkpoints in northern Iraq, reports are coming through of further activity and violations by the occupying army in the region.
Citing local sources, Rojnews agency reported on Saturday that Turkish soldiers raided the village of Dergelê in Kanî Masî town of Duhok last night. The occupiers threatened the villagers and told them to evacuate the village within 24 hours."

In a statement, the US State Department [...] urged Turkey to protect civilians and respect Iraqi sovereignty."

Mkaay, cool, maybe stop arming https://todon.eu/@b9AcE/111913995609586917 the the rebranded al-Qaeda allied and ISIL collaborating aggressor.
Also, WTF do you mean "ongoing threat posed by the PKK"?!?
How is anyone a "threat" by being attacked with chemical warfare while remaining in the areas of officially Iraq where they had signed agreement with Turkey and Iraq to relocate to as part of the ceasefire agreement that Erdoğan unilaterally broke by entirely unprovoked invading and occupying S Kurdistan/N Iraq committing many war crimes well documented on average several times daily while the PKK's forces remain adamant in following the Geneva Conventions since 1995. Are you on meth?
Turkey's war of aggression invasion army in S Kurdistan/N Iraq burns villages and prevented the locals from extinguishing the fires.
https://anfenglish.com/kurdistan/turkish-army-burns-villages-in-south-kurdistan-74133
This follows that army's previous practice of setting e.g. crop fields on fire with bombardment from their >100 military occupation forts in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to then shoot at any of the locals coming to rescue their own livelihood, or similar using flares (long- and intense-burning fires) dropped from low-flying helicopters, or simply having its soldiers or auxiliary forces go do the crop- and general nature-arson directly by hand, which are methods they use also within Erdoğan's civil war against the Kurdish majority areas under the regime.
All of that being explicitly defined specific war crimes.
"Turkey brings Al Nusra ["former" regional al-Qaeda] and other jihadists to Northern Iraq to fight against PKK"
https://medyanews.net/turkey-brings-al-nusra-and-other-jihadists-to-northern-iraq-to-fight-against-pkk/
Congratulations, Biden, your encouragement through e.g. the recent sale of 40 new F-16 model jets which is used e.g. for this invasion of Iraq, has let "former" al-Qaeda expand, just because you won't let go of your İncirlik NATO Air Base and was too horny to expand NATO so surrendered to Erdoğan's extortion over allowing the expansion.
That government and its auxiliaries you have thus enabled have many times very clearly declared intending genocides, annexation and further aggression into e.g. Greece and much, much farther.
How many genocides can one person make themself complicit in through just one presidency term?
The many YEARS of the federal govt and parliament of Iraq demanding Turkey leave, while being extorted using cutoff of Iraq's major rivers and through Erdoğan's quisling puppet Barzanis' KDP threatening to cause the fall of the govt if they don't do what KDP and thtough it Erdoğan orders Iraq to do,
has been a loooong process wherein all those States with power to stop Turkey just let the invasion continue, in spite of its several weekly war crimes and its involving the al-Qaeda you once claimed were most important in the world to defeat.
Erdoğan's war of aggression in what's officially Iraq, in addition to the one in Syria, continues advancing methodically setting fire the the general nature and locals' food crops as they go.
Here's a new fire started this evening by the invading occupier at the village Rêkan in Duhok Province of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Locals again reported being prevented by Turkey's occupation army from extinguishing the land of their own homes.
Again, these are absolutely indisputable and systematic war crimes:

'Call on Everyone to Raise the Intensity of Resistance Against Occupation' - Statement by the KCK Executive Council on the Turkish invasion of southern Kurdistan and the collaboration of the KDP and the Iraqi government. Not just their fields of crops, but also tractor needed for future agriculture, was burned by Turkey's army invading to further occupy Iraq's Kurdistan Region, with long declared intent to illegally annex.
Their systematic actions clearly are intentionally targeted against the region's majority Kurdish people as a group and as the same group is similarly targeted in Erdoğan's other war of aggression as well as domestically in the likewise unilaterally restarted civil war, for deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.
The last part of the previous sentence is exactly and in full definition "c" of what "genocide means" in the "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide".
Yet, USA, et al keeps arming the genocidal aggressor. The leaders of those have thus chosen to make themselves co-culprits.

This is of course absolutely a gross violation of supposed international law, but you know... it's the wrong people being violated so world "leaders" don't give a fart.

@b9AcE do you have a source which can give me an overview of what's going on in a larger sense arcoss that part of asia?
Im familiar with Palestine because im an American and the Zionist colony is the longest running most OBVIOUSLY evil thing I know of that America maintains.
Why the fuck did kurds KEEP ON working with the us given how many times we screwed them over?
Nvm. I know why. We weren't trying to exterminate them. I hate that part. So MUCH.
@CatHat Hmm, I'm sorry, no.
I have me, my memory from following this stuff for well over a decade and for most of that time most of my awake time almost every day.
But good regional news-sources in English are the ones you've seen me keep linking to (in alphabetical order):
https://anfenglish.com
https://hawarnews.com/en
https://medyanews.net
https://npasyria.com/en
https://duvarenglish.com
Definitely a good start. ;-)
@b9AcE. I guess what im asking about is how kurds in what was kurdistan and Palestinians in Palestine stand in relation to one another? I ran into friction on Twitter between people associated them.
Which largely boiled down to America being DIRECTLY responsible for Palestinian suffering thereafter its my moral obligation to make that stop.
Idk how much energy i have to do a deep dive into 'we screwed them over which means i should try ro unscrew it
@CatHat I can't speak for either people, but I can tell you that the PKK's first ally was the PFLP.
PKK's first training camp was at PFLP's camps in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon and the PKK's first ever martyrs fell while defending the Palestinian refugee camps when Israel together with the Fascist (Franco- and Mussolini-inspired) Phalanges, Amal, Lebanese Forces (not the military but political party+militia), etc attacked the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.
That alliance between the PKK and the PFLP has remained since then but become fragile lately because PFLP lacking support from abroad, probably for at least having been the best option for the Palestinians, have then instead been forced to get closer to Iran and therefore has expressed support for Assad, which ain't cool with PKK,
but for example when Leyla Güven (then in parliament for HDP) almost hungerstriked to death, the only global politician who came to offer support was Leila Khaled (in parliament for PFLP).
Israel and Turkey like using each others' genocide-targets as PR-props for personal prestige, but those who really know the history and really look to the peoples' mutual good, know that solidarity between the oppressed is immensely valuable, while being used as a tool for another's genocide will only bring betrayal.
@b9AcE good. Its not like they have a choice other than 'die' if they don't work with SOMEONE.
The good guys should not be fighting one another.
Its not something i have the right to pass judgements on of course.
My job is getting MY fucking country to stop supporting genocide
