Via Francis Maxwell:

If you think it’s crazy #Biden called Zelenskyy Putin, wait till you hear about the time he got his doctors name wrong, confused Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi and said Viktor Orban was the leader of Turkey…

Wait, that was Trump.

Morons and hypocrites everywhere.

@TCatInReality I hate this cycle beyond words.

@GottaLaff @TCatInReality
Maybe it's a good thing that Joe made such a minor gaffe and caught himself like a normal person to help people move on and start focusing on the big issues.

Yes, probably dreaming, but it such a non-issue.

@GreenFire @TCatInReality Even a natural error like that, one that I make every day, is going to doom him in the press. It already has. https://press.coop/@business/112770308452232004

@GottaLaff @TCatInReality
Yeah, I'm listening to the BBC focusing on it now too.
@GreenFire EVERYONE. I’ve seen 5 alerts. @TCatInReality
@GottaLaff @GreenFire
Good journalism would note that Biden has always been gaffe prone.

@GottaLaff @GreenFire @TCatInReality On a bright side - at some point media will get desensitized with Biden's gaffes and will just move on.

He needs to be more out in front of people, gaffes and all. Make it normalized.

@hu_logic @GottaLaff @TCatInReality
I know that Joe Biden knows better how to campaign than do I.
@hu_logic He’s made gaffes his whole life and the press has written about all of them. Gaffes are nothing new. He did well and made his usual, “normal” gaffes, corrected most. @GreenFire @TCatInReality
@GreenFire @GottaLaff @TCatInReality most people don't realise that a person who has dementia would need to think that Zelensky is Putin. But that doesn't suit the bias press narrative...

@GottaLaff

Do you want the guy who is with Zelenskyy and calling out Putin's name or with Putin and calling Zelenskyy for political dirt on his opponent

@GottaLaff seems kind of egregious to conflate a country’s leader with essentially the representative of its national enemy, and do it multiple times. I really wouldn’t mind Kamala taking Bidens place because this is just sad
@procyon60 I would totally be much happier being force to vote for Harris over Biden. Maybe I wouldn't loose as much sleep.. I'm afraid our racist/sexist country would not go for it though
@LuLuLove @procyon60 that's the issue. If another candidate was able to run, would the press go quietly into the night? Of course not! There's always something to focus on. Whether it's age, sex, sexual preference, colour of skin etc. In the UK they are now obsessed with Angela Rayner (the deputy PM) wearing bright clothes & whether that's appropriate. In other words; a working class former single mum doesn't deserve that role because; sexism and snobbery. There will always be something.

@Annekin

🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯

As more attention gets focused on Harris because Biden is busy presidenting (& to reassure nervous Nellies that the country will be in good hands should something happen), the media will try their darndest to “Hillary” her. The despicable Gorka referring to her as a “DEI hire” was vile, but we should expect much more vile & disgusting slurs, not to mention the blatant lies.

#kamalaharris #BidenHarris2024

@LuLuLove @procyon60

@bronakins thank you! I wish it weren't true though.
@Annekin if we didn't eat up their BS they wouldn't write it. So it's kinda our fault anyways, right? Like a lot of things are our fault..
@LuLuLove I don't agree. The media looks for a story. It then amplifies the story and people read the story and begin to form opinions. The media then report that people are talking about a story they created. It is the press who decide what is news, not the public.
@GottaLaff Biden also instantly corrected himself, apologized, and made a joke about. Like normal people do
@GottaLaff Saying "Putin" instead of "Zelenskyy" is a slip that Joe Biden doesn't need right now, but it can happen to anyone: I once went to a fundraiser dinner for the American Himalayan Foundation and when Sharon Stone tried to introduce Diane Feinstein's husband, Richard Blume, she said, "the husband of the mayor of San Francisco" (Gavin Newsom at that time). She had inadvertently dropped "former". Later Bill Clinton said, "I really know what it's like to be embarrassed."

@GottaLaff I’m amazed at how well he handles all the information he’s juggling in his mind while speaking off the cuff. On top of that he’s editing out information on the fly that he doesn’t want to make public, or some other leader doesn’t want made public.

I couldn’t do it.

@gdinwiddie @GottaLaff Exactly.
Even a thirty year old has the same cognitive capacity. The brain is human. Presidents are human. Give the man a break people. Is there a credible alternative anyway?
@BigD no thirty year old would only make this many mistakes without a brain injury
@LuLuLove
He probably met and spoke to better than 500 people in the last week. I'd struggle remembering names after meeting 50.

@BigD @gdinwiddie @GottaLaff plus this is an excellent way to taking over the news cycle which previously only Trump enjoyed.

As you can see Trump is so frustrated about dropping coverage, to a degree he even pretended to forget 500 people worked for him in Project 2025, in order to win the cycle back.

2024 is the year of the forgetting. whoever forget most will win this election.

@GottaLaff “But Her Emails” Redux

@GottaLaff

#BidenHarris2024
I have 6 grandchildren & the joke is how many names I go thru before I get to the right one!
& I’m younger than Biden

Biden Pushes Back, Delivers Strong Press Conference

Never count Joe out

The Dworkin Report

@GottaLaff

They both are unsuited for the office. But Trump has to run in order to stay out of prison. The Democrats still have time to replace Biden.

@Dave_Goldsmith @GottaLaff worst case with Biden is if he *actually* becomes unsuited for the job we get Harris, who should be very good at it.

Worst case without Biden is TFG wins and we become an authoritarian dictatorship

@RandomDamage @GottaLaff

I agree with that. As I said many times I'd rather have Biden than Trump I'd rather have a yellow dog than Trump. My question is can Biden win and right now my answer is no.

@Dave_Goldsmith @GottaLaff the NYT and other so-called unbiased media are going to run hit jobs on any Democrat that might replace him.

Nobody is clean enough to escape it, because there's always the damning "not experienced enough" for anyone who doesn't have something in their record that might be spun as bad

@RandomDamage @GottaLaff

I'm less worried about the attacks than the ability to respond to them forcefully.

@GottaLaff Just unbelievable all the Democrats whiteanting Biden - I can understand the press doing it - any excitement helps to sell papers and harvest eyeballs - but for Democrats to do it is just making a self fulfilling prophecy come true. #Gavin & #gretchen - in superhero suits - really some people are just confusing Hollywood with reality.

@GottaLaff following it up with the Harris/Trump mixup tonight isn’t going to help, but I’m sure the press will point out that everyone mixes up names from time to time and Biden has always been a gaffe machine. Ha ha just kidding!

I’d like to see his campaign put out an ad with quick alternating clips showing he and Trump mixing up names over the years, then contrast with some of Trump spewing utter gibberish.

@GottaLaff measuring the level of dementia on this granular of a level is troubling.
@GottaLaff When can we have the pleasure of your commentary on #PP and his fear mongering and pathological lying?

@CanadianCrone Thank you for the vote of confidence in my writing, but I have boosted PP toots galore.

I don’t feel knowledgeable enough to offer much more, and I can’t vote in Canadian elections, so I’m not as invested (time wise).

I stick to US politics, mostly.

But if you EVER need a boost, I’m here.

@GottaLaff not to mention trump confused about his wives

@GottaLaff And on the few (compared to Trump) occasions when he misspeaks, it's not in the context of stealing national nuclear secrets or booking holidays with Epstein.

It's in the context of being one of the most effective Presidents of the whole recent 100 years.

Can he do the job? DUH. He's _doing_ it.

@GottaLaff but to get Zelenskyy confused with Putin is real gross

@LuLuLove Uh, he didn’t confuse the men. He said Putin because it was on his mind re: Ukraine/Zelensky.

He corrected, he was aware.

Grow up.

@GottaLaff

Frustrating nonsense, a circlejerk…

It is like this: if you want democracy to continue and not wake up in an authoritarian christofascist future: #voteblue

And have a look at this btw, because Lawrence O’Donnell tells it as it is.

https://www.msnbc.com/the-last-word/watch/lawrence-biden-speaks-to-nato-and-afl-cio-after-trump-read-a-teleprompter-full-of-lies-214624325572

Lawrence: Biden speaks to NATO and AFL-CIO after Trump read a teleprompter full of lies

After two weeks of public discussions about the viability of the Biden-Harris campaign, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell analyzes Joe Biden’s campaign speech in which he delivered remarks to union leaders and celebrated the economic success of his administration – versus Donald Trump’s campaign speech where he lied about everything, including President Biden’s economic policy.

MSNBC
@xs4me2 I posted that early yesterday

@GottaLaff

I know, I watched every minute of it, and it cannot be posted and reposted enough!

@GottaLaff The media aren't satisfied with reporting the news they want to make it and shape the narrative. Trump is better for their own business and their owners & friends. Unfortunately, it's down to the American people to save their country now.
@GottaLaff This is what's driving me nuts. The Guardian today said he had a good knowledge of foreign policy, but then focused on two "gaffs." I searched the articles & absolutely no mention of Trump. I'm not denying Biden slips up, but for the sake of balance could the media not also point out how often Trump does the same. Also, that Trump's knowledge of foreign policy is precisely zero 😡
@Annekin The slip ups he had were normal ones. They’re now being magnified way out of proportion because of the narrative. Sigh.
@GottaLaff Same with the question about whether Biden has a long enough work day. Trump watched TV all day and golfed all weekend.
@GottaLaff

"If I'm to be bothered to vote against the deranged lunatic with aspirations of monarchy, the other guy needs to be perfect"?
@GottaLaff We get to choose between a senior in decline, and a senior in decline who is also a psychopath. What a time to be alive.
