FOX Weather is actually pretty solid when it comes to weather reporting; YET, it's amazing how much they speak about #ClimateCrisis #ClimateChange without ever uttering the words.
how they do it? just now they had a report about how Floridians cannot get property insurance because the hurricanes are getting worse and worse.
there is no doubt in my mind FOX WEATHER is why #ClimateCrisis is one of the biggest rifts between #Zillennials and their "fascist curious" elders.

am from La Isla. i survived, in Puerto Rico, my share of hurricanes and tropical storms that were as deadly as hurricanes.
they're speaking my language and are always blowing my mind with how well they report on the causes of weather related disasters.

those floods are happening like clockwork every July and they are absolutely bananas.
are they in a valley? i know they have the Adirondacks on their New York side, but have never given much thought to their position within New England.
ANOTHER THING: there's long-ass trees in these bits about #Beryl's path of destruction across Texas and... i don't know fam, but those trees didn't seem to have deep roots to begin with? like, they were long but their root stumps look really small and shallow.
that tells me these were NOT native trees; AND they were not keeping up with tree maintenance in these residential places.
how can you have such tall and relatively skinny trees with shallow roots like that so close to your home?

given how extreme the heat has been, and the fact this hurricane season started about 2 months too early, they were mentioning how "just" a Cat 1 hurricane was no reason to not prepare for disaster.

@blogdiva The problem is we had a hard freeze 3 years ago, and then we have had droughts year after year, and so trees with normally big root balls are not as strong as they should be. In all the pics of trees in houses with #Beryl I have seen, they are all native to Houston.
The non-native ones cannot hack our normal weather. :)
It looks like all the narrow valleys visible on a contour map of Vermont would be very sensitive to increased rainfall.
