FOX Weather's logo has an HQ in it. the way they put it on the chiron, right under the metereologist (who is usually a woman), looks like it says HURRICANE HO 🧐

btw

FOX Weather is actually pretty solid when it comes to weather reporting; YET, it's amazing how much they speak about #ClimateCrisis #ClimateChange without ever uttering the words.

how they do it? just now they had a report about how Floridians cannot get property insurance because the hurricanes are getting worse and worse.

there is no doubt in my mind FOX WEATHER is why #ClimateCrisis is one of the biggest rifts between #Zillennials and their "fascist curious" elders.

"Climate change poll: Most millennial and Gen Z Republicans want government climate action - Vox"
https://www.vox.com/2019/11/25/20981768/climate-change-pew-opinion-poll-republicans-ok-boomer

Poll: Most millennial and Gen Z Republicans want more government climate action. Most boomer Republicans don’t.

The findings of a new survey highlight a generational and ideological divide among Republicans on climate change.

Vox

BTW they are doing a timeline of tornadoes, storms and hurricanes for the past few days.

70 WARNINGS, 41 CONFORMED TORNADOES JUST IN 3 DAYS

and y'all missed how Ms. Weather Gal described Beryl like a line-backer; AND IT ABSOLUTELY MADE SENSE.

am from La Isla. i survived, in Puerto Rico, my share of hurricanes and tropical storms that were as deadly as hurricanes.

they're speaking my language and are always blowing my mind with how well they report on the causes of weather related disasters.

but fucking Huckabee and his snake oil ads... ugh.
BTW this is an OTA (over the air) sub-channel i get with an antenna. i haven't had cable for almost 2 years now.

OMG THEY HAVE AN AD FOR A SOLAR POWERED GENERATOR!!!

"it's solar powered!"
"NO GAS!"

and guess what they call it: PATRIOT POWER

how did that slip by their petromafia masters?!?!

BTW: does not escape me that they branded the channel FOX WEATHER, not FOX NEWS Weather or FOX WEATHER NEWS

just sayin'...

INDIANA has become the battering ram of tornadoes this year

WTF TEXAS whenever i think they've hit bottom there's another off-ramp. there's still over a million people without electricity in Houston?

WTF TEXAS WTF

AND THEY RE-ELECTED THAT KLEPTOCRAT ABBOT

#Beryl

OMG
NOW I GET IT!

#Beryl is tearing across the United States as a caravan of TORNADOES!!!

dafuck!

#ClimateCrisis #ClimateChange

BTW
anybody know of a source that explains the geographic reasons for Vermont's floods?

those floods are happening like clockwork every July and they are absolutely bananas.

are they in a valley? i know they have the Adirondacks on their New York side, but have never given much thought to their position within New England.

#ClimateCrisis #ClimateChange

ANOTHER THING: there's long-ass trees in these bits about #Beryl's path of destruction across Texas and... i don't know fam, but those trees didn't seem to have deep roots to begin with? like, they were long but their root stumps look really small and shallow.

that tells me these were NOT native trees; AND they were not keeping up with tree maintenance in these residential places.

how can you have such tall and relatively skinny trees with shallow roots like that so close to your home?

Americans hatred of native ecosystems is a #ClimateCrisis

OOOH!
that bit i mentioned earlier about property insurance premiums sky rocketing in places like Florida? they're rebroadcasting it and it gets even better:

it's also about #ClimateCrisis REFUGEES... without ever uttering THAT word

#FOXWeather

survivalists will never not be creepy

OOH!
one more.

#FOXWeather also knocked down Abbot a couple of notches because his admin didn't seem too worried about #Beryl. it was "just" a #Cat1 #hurricane.

their scare quotes not mine.

given how extreme the heat has been, and the fact this hurricane season started about 2 months too early, they were mentioning how "just" a Cat 1 hurricane was no reason to not prepare for disaster.

another example of speaking about the #ClimateCrisis without saying it.

#HurricaneBeryl #Texas

Katie Byrne, in your green sleeveless maillot showing your expansive greatness whilst reporting about the #extremeWeather and the destruction left by #HurricaneBeryl, i salute you.

#FOXWeather #Texas

@blogdiva there's an insurance company that's experiencing tremendous growth because so many have pulled out of Florida but it's just a matter of time before they're going to need to pay up because they haven't had the time like others to build up their coffers
@blogdiva eucalyptus?
@MatWright the trunks were of a more reddish brown hue
@blogdiva some varieties have red bark - Aussies call them candle sticks, they are so full of oily sap they can explode in fires
@blogdiva Many trees in their native habitats have shallow roots. Douglas Fir, for instance, have shallow roots. They grow in groups, and shield each other from wind, helping reduce the need for deep anchoring roots. Of course, when people come around and chop down all but one or two ("We'll keep these, they're so pretty!") they are prone to toppling in the wind.

@blogdiva The problem is we had a hard freeze 3 years ago, and then we have had droughts year after year, and so trees with normally big root balls are not as strong as they should be. In all the pics of trees in houses with #Beryl I have seen, they are all native to Houston.

The non-native ones cannot hack our normal weather. :)

@blogdiva

It looks like all the narrow valleys visible on a contour map of Vermont would be very sensitive to increased rainfall.

@blogdiva And they have an ad for shelf-stable meals that can last up to 25 years. Same Patriot Power folks. Doomsday preppers. Though if I ever decided to do van or RV life,a portable generator with solar panels is a great idea.

@blogdiva @IveyJanette And now i need to know EVERYTHING about doomsday peppers. 🌢️

Don’t care that it’s a typo, I’m in. #DoomsdayPeppers

I’m thinking a cross between scotch bonnets and carolina reapers, with just a scoche of indian ghost peppers.

@kmmfoo @blogdiva It was supposed to read "Doomsday Preppers". Damn spellcheck. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

DOOMSDAY PEPPERS is gonna be the name of my new a capella line-cook choir & taquerΓa

@IveyJanette @kmmfoo

@blogdiva @kmmfoo Even seeing those commercials and some of the other prepper racists on YouTube, I think they NEED TO EAT Doomsday Peppers. It'll bring them some sanityπŸ˜›
@blogdiva Just saw the commercial for the solar generator again. It's a company called 4Patriots. I'm not going to post the link to their website here because I despise their agenda(doomsday preppers and likely supporters of you-know-who). They also sell those packaged meals with the 25 year shelf life. It looks like that crap they feed people at shelters.
@IveyJanette right?!?! that guy gives me the creeps, LOL
@blogdiva Those commercials make me cringe. They're as obnoxious as the ones hyping reverse mortgages and the one with Chuck Woolery hyping up gold investing. And just as nauseating as the commercials for whatever garbage item Trump's grifters are hyping: bears, trains, coins, trading cards.
