@Ruth_Mottram well had you included Scotland I would have suggested soup as our typical national dish. We are apparently the largest consumers of soup in Europe and it is excellent quality.
@peterbrown soup and not haggis? Though saying that, Cullen Skink would definitely be my (non-veggie) choice for Scotland!

The only reason haggis got on the billing was because people who came here from England hadn’t heard of it.
