RIP #AudreyFlack, a fascinating, varied artist who did a lot of things in her long career.

This print by her, "Macarena Esperanza," is on view a little longer in our galleries. She made it for a portfolio of prints published as part of Documenta 5 (which our museum bought in 1974). Former curator of paintings Donald Keyes wrote that it "establishes a tension between the forms as real objects and as abstract patterns."

Audrey Flack, Creator of Vibrant Photorealist Art, Dies at 93

She painted and sculpted, but she was best known for her oversized still lifes, painted from photographs and crowded with color and detail.
